I secon the comment that you're lucky to have been started on music young. I didn't get into it until I was older, and thus it will always be harder for me than it is for my friends who were raised taking music lessons.
I took singing lessons for something like six or seven years. When I started, I sang completely offkey and had a range of less than an octave. I practiced for hours every single day, had a 45 minute lesson so intense that I often came out of it barely able to breathe because my diaphram was so exhausted, and I pushed myself to a three octave range and nearly perfect pitch. But I had to quit taking lessons when I went off to college, and now my range has dropped significantly and my breath control is shit again ;)
I took guitar lessons for a few years in college, but never practiced as much as I ought. It's something I'd like to get into again someday, but it's not high on my list of priorities -- I need to make sure that other things get done, first.
