Thar be twins!

A little over two months ago, I helped cement the friendship of two girls. Perhaps I did the job too well. Let me explain.

I'm sitting with my old friend "Da Noise" in the engineering building and we randomly met one of the girls, affectionately known as "the rock" (cause a rock feels no pain). We do the whole "how was your break" chatter. Oh, hey, looks like everyone got a haircut.

Not an hour later, we ran into the other girl, "the pirate" (who stressed the point of talk like a pirate day too far). I believe only a literal script of the conversation will do it justice.

Me: Hey, you got a haircut over Thanksgiving Break?
Pirate: Arrrgh! Yeah, maytee!
Me: Don't you have the same haircut as the rock?
Pirate: Aye!
Me: Same place?
Pirate: Aye!
Me: Same barber?
Pirate: Aye!
Noise: Same day?
Pirate: Aye!
Me: Probably at the same time, too!
(Noise and I bust out laughing)
Pirate: You maytees be no fun! I be leaving now!

Pirate girl may or may not have talked with a pirate accent. It's hard to remember. Nonetheless, the pirate and the rock have the same exact haircut. Okay, this may be normal behavior for girls, but now I can't tell the difference between the two.

Seriously, I'm probably going to start calling each girl by the wrong name because I can't tell them apart...

Are they that physically similar that it's hard to tell them apart? Pick a different feature to distinguish them by?

Nah, one is quite a bit shorter than the other. It was just super awkward, since I was actually joking about them getting the same haircut from the same place.

But it was true. They're attached at the hip, those two.

Perhaps they're lovers...

I doubt it. I think it's just a case of unoriginality, a most common sympton of the human population.

Besides, they're part of the Baptist Student Union with me. Methinks social conservatism nixes those types of ideas.
