The fluffy killer bunnies from Scotland attack Tokyo, part 2

Or how the UN should get more slack from the USA.

You know, we tried this world league thing once, after World War I. Oh yeah, something called the League of Nations. That son of a minister Wilson wanted self determining nations. That sure worked.

Now we're trying this United Nations thing, a government heavily favored towards the five permanent members of the Security Council. The beautiful thing is that the United States hides its imperial tendences behind a push for "world democracy". American actions beg to differ.

Truthfully, it can be summed up like this: Americans want something, they claim its good for freedom, and they go out and do it. Then they'll ask for U.N. support after the fact. Is that any way to treat the world government?

Cut us some slack, we're relying on the goodwill of all nations here.

you've appeased the fluffy killer bunnies, they will not go on further rampages. (for now)

Sure, it can handle fluffy killer bunnies, but can I don't know how effective the UN can be against world poverty and hunger.

can't do much, but more then most. It hugely ineffective as it is now. still all the membership countries won't replace it with something better, so it's the only thing we have. uni/bilateral and even most multilateral actions are even more ineffective. The world with this UN is a better off then a world without it

People usually only say that after a huge war. You know, if we only had a stronger League of Nations that the Second World War could have been prevented. Perhaps one day someone will lament the weakness of the United Nations in preventing the Third World War.

Lets hope that it never comes to that. You never know, maybe we have learnt from last time. (O I hope so, I hope so)
