I have passed the test plus five questions
Oh happy day! I just checked out my friends list on LJ, and to my surprise theferrett was a mutual friend! Now, I know how the Turtles felt when Splinter said, “I have taught you all that I can. Now you must learn everything else yourself.”
It’s a bittersweet moment, knowing that you have achieved something that you’ve worked hard for but also knowing that you have many more lessons to learn before becoming a writer who has realized his full potential.
The sickness seems to have subsided, as I have my voice back now. I’m still a little light-headed, but I should steer clear of anything disastrous with another night of good sleep. With the Labor Day weekend, I’ll be back stronger than ever.
There’s been something else that’s been occupying my mind lately, but I need a lot of time to meditate on it. Once I get my thoughts formalized on it, I’ll be sure to share it.
Bush’s speech: A bunch of fluff full of rhetoric reminding the American public what a great job he did with September 11th. Nothing to change my vote really.
So, apparently there’s this five questions game going around. These are five interview questions by usmu on LJ:
1. What are your thoughts, if any, on The Netherlands?
I know the capital is Amsterdam, city of a bustling red light district and legal weed. The Dutch also have the International Court of Justice at The Hague. I believe Holland’s greatest sports achievement was winning the World Cup (sorry, don’t remember when) thanks to the “Clockwork Orange” team. In fact, The Netherlands is known for its trademark orange that its national teams proudly wear. Personally, it wouldn’t be my first choice to visit in Europe but I’d like to go there if I ever became a rich man.
2. Would you consider going into politics as a career? Why?
Yes and no. Yes because I know I can make a difference on the local level. Little things like the water supply or county libraries could be of great interest to me. No because I’ve become rather embittered in my time as a student senator. If you don’t already know, parliamentary procedure irks me to no end.
3. What's your best Magic experience?
Hmmm, if you don’t know what Magic is I’d skip this one. I have so many good moments, so let me share two. A recent one is in a fun four player Mini-Master with my friends, and we all used Darksteel packs. I got a decent pack with some big creatures and a random red rare. I lost the first game against my dramatic friend Jameson. In the second game I was about to die to a flyer, but I calmly announced that there was one card that could save me in this situation. I drew my card, sighed, and attacked all out with my fat. He double blocked the biggest one, but then I cast an entwined Savage Beating, which was a savage beating in this case. He had been out of Magic since Scourge, so he couldn’t keep expressing his disbelief that Wizards would print a card that would basically allow four attacks in a single turn. I went on to win the match while constantly reminding him of the savage rip I made against him.
I have another good memory from days long past against the red-haired, freckled-faced Jameson (since you play Magic against your friends the most, you’re bound to have some of your best moments for and against them). I was a true newbie, we did a Masques-Nemesis-Prophecy draft at the local comic store. I remember that I was trying to race him with a Stronghold Zeppelin, while he had the combo of Chimeric Idol and the artifact well that gained him life whenever all his lands were tapped. I couldn’t do him enough damage it seemed. I was down to my last card, whereupon I pronounced that there was only one card that could save me in my situation. I untapped, drew, and attacked with a Zeppelin. He shrugged as if he had won the game, but then I cast Wild Might to steal it. If he hadn’t used the Idol to gain life off the well, he would have had the mana necessary to counteract the rhystic pump spell. Ah, the irony. However, the match ended in a draw if I remember correctly.
4. What kind of music do you listen to?
I definitely enjoy classical music, especially Beethoven. Music from old Chinese kung fu serials from the 80’s is still stuck in my head. I love listening to anime songs, of which Princess Nine’s opening theme is my favorite (it was the only one whose theme song made me buy the anime). Being a video gamer, I take pleasure in hearing the orchestral versions of Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Xenogears. OverClocked Remix has some cool songs of my favorite NES games. Also, I like to listen to soundtracks, especially for sad songs.
5. What's the most decadent thing you've done?
Sorry, I’m pretty much a goody two shoes. The worse thing I’ve ever done is condemning a girl to hell in high school just for excluding someone from the lunch table. Let’s just say my faith hadn’t been fully developed yet, although I still need to properly apologize for that incident.
That’s it for today. There are some rules to this game, but I’m going to change them for my own purpose. I didn’t see anything in the rules that said I couldn’t. Okay, whoever comments that they want to be interviewed by me will get asked five questions. Then they will post the answers on their journal like I have done. Then they will ask to interview someone else, so the cycle can continue. You can actually do this for any number of people, but my change is that I will probably only do the first one. Maybe the second if I’m feeling generous.

We never became world champions soccer. The most traumatic of the two finals so us lose in 1974 to the Germans. Which stills is a trauma to some.
And weed isn't legal. The selling at specific places, referred to as hash bars in Pulp Fiction, buying in small quantities is condoned. The same goes for having three plants at home for private use. Growing or supplying in large quantities is not.
My best Magic Memory is playing a small tournament with my brother, a nephew and three of his friends. I was playing a cappy but fun poison/circle of protection deck, my nephew a red direct damage one. It was pretty close as I had a red circle of protection and an unblockable poison something or other. He managed to kill me by burning a card to draw an extra card to get a shatter the turn before I would have killed him. We had some good fun that night.

Well, the fact that marijuana is condoned by the Dutch gov't is leaps and bounds over what people want here.
I guess if you're feeling introspective, I would like to know...
1. How did you come up with your livejournal name?
2. What is the best opera of all time?
3. If you could be an animal, which one would you be and why?
4. What has been the best play in Magic against you?
5. What is the biggest mistake you've ever made in a relationship?
