greybeta: (Palimpset)

A new fantasy novel named Palimpsest debuted in the 200's on Amazon yesterday. I understand that's a good debut.

What I find interesting is that the book just came out and it already has a trailer on YouTube (I'm not going to link to it as it's a bit risque just in case you're at work). Also, it already has a soundtrack, Quartered: Songs of Palimpsest. And a nice batch of well done LJ icons, if you can tell from the icon I'm using in this picture. That's awesome for what I understand is a quirky book, and makes me wonder what authors even just a decade ago had to go though to drum up interest in their books.

If there's a downside, it falls in the zone of books where if a future student of mine read it on my personal recommendation, I would most likely get in huge trouble with his or her parents. On the other hand, they would remember what "palimpsest" means for their SATs...
