The upside of being busy
I've gotten some really good sleep the past few days.

The downside of being busy
I haven't had a decent post in a while...sadness.

Sold my first TV!
I sold not only my first but also my second HDTV last night. $2400 worth of TVs translates to about $60-$70 for me in commission. What makes it doubly sweet is that I wasn't supposed to work last night, I was just filling in for someone who called in sick. Wahoo!

Verse of the Day
"For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him."
~2 Chronicles 16:9

Convo of the Day
J: You make me laugh.
D2: That's what she said.

Quote of the Day
"In every work of genius we see our own rejected thoughts."

Sports Report
There are five 3-0 teams in the NFL, with Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre being the biggest surprise. Pennant and wild card races are coming down to the wire. Mets really need a solid performance from Pedro tonight, while the Rockies are on a nine game winning streak and could end up as the surprise team out of the weak NL.

Entertainment
Was the first episode of Season Two for Heroes a disappointment? I don't think so, it's just that the expectations are raised much higher now.

Lengthy email return
I'm bad at email; sometimes, it takes me a month or more to respond. Are you guys quicker than that or do you have the same problem I do?

Happy Birthday, Sis!
Happy Birthday to my elder sis, my one and only sibling! ^_^

Substitute teaching
The tuberculosis test came back negative, so now all I have to do is get my fingerprints taken at the substitute teacher workshop this coming Tuesday and I'll have all the paperwork filled out to be a sub.

Dale Bumpers
As part of the American Democracy Project, Senator Dale Bumpers and former governor of Arkansas came out and spoke for half an hour at my university. Predictable, but at least he varied his tone.

Kids
Last week a kid started crying in my four year old Sunday School class. He missed his mommy. We let him cry, continuing on until we did an activity he was interested in and then he suddenly stopped crying and joined in like nothing happened. Kids!

Verse of the Day
"Now then, we are ambsssadors for God, as though God were pleading through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God."

Old school Baptist weddings
You know you're at an old school Baptist wedding when there's no drinking or dancing. No, not even a first dance.

Web classes
They're awesome because there aren't slower people to slow me down.

Volunteer assistant coach
My old Quiz Bowl coach just had his first baby, a cute daughter born about a week and a half ago. Seeing as how much of his time will be devoted to his baby, I offered my services as an assistant coach and he accepted.

Verse of the Day
"God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose."
~Romans 8:28

Convo of the Day
L: Who are you?
D2's old Quiz Bowl coach: Daniel was my first captain. He was the team that year.

Sports Report
A Red Sox rookie threw a no-no in only his second start, but the biggest sporting news of the decade is best summed up by the guy at Sunday Morning Quarterback:
I'm still trying to synthesize the Appalachian State upset of Michigan. If Biff from Back to the Future saw that game in his sportsbook from the past, he couldn't stake his ill-gotten fortune on it, because his secret would be blown. Anyone who bet anything significant on a straight-up ASU win should be immediately pursued, arrested and interrogated about his time travel capabilities. He probably shot Kennedy. Both of them.

Entertainment
I've added Balls of Fury to my ever growing list of movies that I must see. Now to make time for them is another matter!

Traditional Asian weddings
They're cool, but...THEY TAKE ALL DAY LONG!!! The wedding day started at 9am and didn't get done till 11:30pm.

Remedial English
So, I was catching up with an old friend and his wife from high school and I volunteered to help her with her remedial English homework. I cried inside when I saw she missed ten out of ten questions...on underlining the complete subject and circling the simple subject. Bozhe moy!

Four year olds
There was a general call for teachers in the preschool classes at my church and I volunteered. As it turns out, the preschool director was the Sunday School teacher for my three year old class way back when. She remembered me (hey, I'm Asian so I tend to stick out) and claimed me! ^_^

Verse of the Day

We're just friends
Hey, it happens! We're just friends, but all the better for it. It's rare that I meet anyone who can understand me when I'm mumbling. ^_^

I got a job!
So, I applied at Sears at the local mall (there's only big one in my town). I was expecting to do footwear but they filled that position the morning I interviewed. However, I was so good in my interview the footwear manager recommended me to appliances. As it turns out, they had a position for selling electronics. Supposedly, electronics is the section people want to be in because you get base pay ($6/hr) plus commission. They haven't hired a new electronics salesman in quite some time, but I happened to show up at the right time!

Room cleaning day
I've got my room organized to be cleaned. Now comes the hard part: Actually executing that cleaning (I've put this off for a few days now).

Verse of the Day
"Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
