My goodness it's been a long time since I've used this format. LiveJournal has changed quite a bit since I last used this, and I like most of the changes.

D2 may return to Tulsa
Nothing definite yet, but I may be returning to Tulsa for the wedding of a good friend, one who filled our lives with much happiness with her snorting laughter.

Transferring requires a lot of paperwork
So, I talked to my history advisor for the third time today. She says she has to fill out a lot of paperwork to do the necessary course replacement. But she's happy to do it!

Google chat smileys rotate
So I was talking to one of my good friends on Google chat and noticed that the smileys literally rotate. It's pretty cool to watch. And when you put your mouse onthe smiley, it rotates back!

Verse of the Day
"The fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." -Galatians 5:22-23

Convo of the Day
Sis: You kind of sound and act like Napoleon Dynamite.
D2: You're the only one who can say that and not get punched in the face.

Quote of the Day
"After you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."
~Sherlock Holmes

Sports Report
If the Suns win the championship, a friend of mine has to put an embarrassing photo up for his Facebook profile pic. If the Mavs win it all, then an embarassing photo of me goes up. Right now, I'm looking pretty darn good!

Entertainment
Summer's around the corner, which means the blockbusters are coming out to play.

Miscellaneous
I won a small stuffed version of Sleepy Dwarf yesterday when I went bowling with peeps from the local Baptist Collegiate Ministry.

Question
Is it bad that I don't join any of the gazillion Facebook groups dedicated to the incident at Blacksburg?

Answer
Not really. Sure, it was a tragedy. What happened was horrible, and I'm sorry for everyone involved. But honestly, I don't care about it much--at least, not enough to join one of the many sympathy groups. I see those as passing fads. In a couple of months, when people start to heal and we turn our attention to the Next Big News Story (another school shooting, god forbid), people will start leaving because there's nothing much left to talk about.

My, my, Ford-kouhei, you reflect my thoughts perfectly.

You have an icon for everything, don't you?

I'm an honest cynic. If anything, I should care more about the shooting at Weston (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weston_High_School_shooting) last fall. Sure, only one person died, and I didn't know him nor the shooter, but it happened twenty miles from here and I know people who knew both shooter and victim, so it hit harder. You don't expect it to happen so close. Still wasn't enough to make me join the groups that popped up after that, though.

Dude, I have 108 LJ Icons, and I've only filled 97 of them, and I probably only use two-thirds of those on a fairly consistent basis. If I don't have an icon for the situation, it takes me about ten minutes to Google Image one up and cut it down to size in paint. I have a lot ideas for icons but not the photoshop leetness to actualize them.

And yes, things closer to home always hit harder. That's just the way human psychology works.
