Nov. 21st, 2004 01:30 pmSigh, I'm always the one to organize my crew's travel to tournaments and inform them of what we need to do. I'm the guy who covers people's tournaments fee and food so that they can come. But it's worth it. The memories, the memories are the things that I can treasure forever.
I had a chance to make Top 8 at the five round Unhinged Prerelease. I was undefeated at 2-0-2, but then I had to play my red-haired drama friend Jameson , and he pounded me with his superior deck.
However, I forgave him since he ended up splitting in the finals. He got 11 packs and a Magic 8-ball counter for his efforts.
Unhinged was great fun. As long as you don't have people being jerks, you'll have a great time. Of all the really fun moments of the day, a particular moment that stood out:
Working Stiff is a 2/2 creature that requires you to play with your arms straight. If you bend your elbow, you have to sacrifice it. My red-haired anime friend Mike tried to Wet Willie it, which would have simulateously allowed him to gain the life to outrace me and kill one of my damage sources. In response, I bent my arms. It was beautiful.
There are a whole lot of confusing cards, like Old Fogey. But that's part of the fun of the set.
And, yeah, the pro-wordy Frazzled Editor is really really good in this set.
The rest of the crew was headed off by the red-haired biological engineer Andy and the red-haired accountant Luke. An Asian and four red-haired guys...there's gotta be some catch name we can come up with for our crew.
After the tournament, we ate at the Flying Burrito in Fayetteville. I almost got tacos, but Luke and Andy convinced me to try a burrito. The guy at the counter recommended shredded pork. It was more of a wrap than a burrito, but whatever it was delicious.
Somehow, some way, I will have 3500 words of ethics essay by tomorrow.
