I mise well do some ego boosting in my state of insomnia.

Once upon a time, I was an avid lurker of a Magic website called Misetings, a humor site. The forums full of flaming people. One of the favorite things to do was to post your thoughts on something before someone else could. There came to be one user who always seemed to beat other people, an invisible man who was everywhere at any given time. Getting beat to the punch became known as getting Sarnath'd.

To this day, when I see an LJ post about something new and exciting that's two minutes after someone else has posted it, I think of them as having been Sarnath'd.

Other than that, I don't know you really well. I dropped by through theferrett. You're a law student out at Arizona State University, an inhabitant of Tempe. You have a strong sense of who you are. It's because you're lightning quick, like Hobbes ready to pounce Calvin.

Although I've only recently friended you on LJ, I sort of knew you in my time as a lurker on Misetings.

And though I know very little about you, I do know you're out on the West Coast. And that you judge Magic, one of the few women who do so. That impresses me the most.

Let me explain something. A good portion of Magic players are actually pretty nice guys. But once you get into bigger tournaments, you will encounter some of the biggest punks around. Some people cheat and some people are just plain jerks. Putting up with that and knowing complicated interactions between cards is amazing.

Betrayers prerelease

I've decided to get away and road trip with a couple of old friends, the lucky Riest and quiet Luke, to Little Rock play in a Magic prerelease. I think it'll be just what I need right now.
