The world is a small place
Jun. 10th, 2005 04:15 pmFairly soon, I will be making the seven hour trip from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jonesboro, Arkansas. The company of ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
wldntulk2knwwho and tu_nenay_08 will alleviate the more boring parts of Arkansan state highways. I need to be at a Baptist church at two o’clock this Saturday for the wedding of one Marie Porter to one Josh Morrison. It’ll be the first wedding outside of family for me. Though two years apart, the bride and groom are perfect for each other. She’ll be attending pharmacy school and he’ll be attending med school next year, and both will be doing so in Little Rock.
This wedding bolsters the claim that the world is a small place. As it so happens, I become acquainted with the bride through various connections in Tulsa. I checked her xanga one day, and the xanga of her fiancée who was attending the University of Central Arkansas. Lo and behold, I see a name on her fiancee’s subscription list that is on my AIM buddy list. It was too much of a coincidence, so I had to check it out. It indeed was my former Quiz Bowl captain from my high school days, who happened to be a good friend of the fiancee. Wow, I hadn’t talked to him in a long awhile. Another Quiz Bowler from those days will be at the wedding as well, so it’ll be fun to catch up with the guys who went to UCA.
