Happy Chinese New Year's!
Feb. 9th, 2005 02:53 pmToday is the first day of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rooster. Wikipedia says The sign of the Rooster indicates a person who is hard-working and definite about their decisions. Roosters are not afraid to speak their minds and can therefore sometimes come across as boastful. They make good restaurant owners and world travellers.
To observe tradition, I will be Lion Dancing. You know, those things in the Chinese kung fu movies where people have those strange looking dragon costumes on and they're dancing to the beat. I usually just watch, but I decided to volunteer for some odd reason. And red is the official color of luck today.
Let's sweep out the old and bring in the new.
