Today, in my honors colloquium, my professor explained why she chose to be a communications professor instead of following her career path as a neuroscientist. What made her get out of neuroscience research was the way they treated their hamsters. They would drug them up and then observe their sexual behavior, because their sexual behavior could show some kind of chemical reaction in the brain. Her job was to literally drug up a hamster, wait until one mounted another, and then decapitate the furry critter at that moment to collect the brain for observation.

I could see why she veered away from that career path.

In other news, the applications for my student association's executives went out today. I've looked over it, and I have a chance. And that's all I can ask for, really.
