I watched my second episode of Apprentice ever today. I like the dynamics of the show...someone has to get the axe. I would have been sad if Clay had not been fired tonight.

My Dad gave me his simple recipe for fried rice. Butter, rice, and an egg. Spray some pepper. Eat.

Not to bad for my first time around, I must say.

Halloween passed us by a couple of weeks ago, so I want to ask you guys a question. What candy did you hate to see in your bag? For my those orange and black peanut butter things always made me cringe.

I love good fried rice. I've learned that the secret is to use cold leftover rice. Mine has egg, green onion, a little white onion (love onions), peas & julienned carrots, and either chicken, shrimp, or pork (or all three)- and soy sauce. I call it my Leftover Killer dish!

When I was a kid, we were stationed in Okinawa, and used to order fried rice from the NCO club. They'd bring us plates heaped with the most delicious rice I'd ever had. It had that 'taste of the wok' that makes it so wonderful. Even today I judge fried rice by that flavor.

I am going to have some pho this weekend.
