So I have to be on the meds for at least three months. Three months of hyperattentiveness. I am expanding my friends list accordingly to deal with my hyperattentiveness.

Welcome new readers. You know who you are. You don't quite know who I am. I'm hard to pin down that way.

Tulsa basketball will suffer another losing season. But I'm still going to go to the games because they're free. Yes students get free tickets to our home games. Too bad we suck...

Data was my favorite character from this series. Go Brent Spiner!

You scored as Enterprise D (from Star Trek). You have high ideals and know in your heart that humanity will continue to evolve into a better people. Now if only the borg would quit assimilating people.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] stella_x3x3, you woman, figure out how to use the lj-cut tag soon. :P

What kind of cookies do you like most? A girl could steal my heart with baked chocolate chip cookies. Oh, the things I have done for baked chocolate chip cookies...

I'd rather not publicly say on LJ what I would do for M&M chocolate chip cookies.

And woman, there are three reasons to use an lj-cut
1. Hide 20 pics under it (I'm going to call you woman until you post a pic. It doesn't have to be of yourself. Just post a pic, woman.) You see, some people in this world still use 56K connections. Posting 20 pics on their friends page is killer and considered rude LJ etiquette.
2. Hiding memes and other 100 questions about yourself stuff. This is because some people have like more than 500 people on their friends list. If a meme or questionnaire starts spreading, it is sort of annoying to have to scroll through fifty million of them.
3. TMI, not worksafe, or "Please don't read this if you're squeamish". Politeness again. You can use the lj-cut text tag to modify your warning as needed.

I believe those are the three rules detailed by my sensei, [livejournal.com profile] theferrett. Some people will defriend you if you write a 3600 post and don't lj-cut it. I like Ferrett's reasoning, though, on why he doesn't want you to lj-cut a very long post. First, you can just scroll past it if you don't want to read it. Second, if they don't want to read a long post from you then they're probably not worth keeping on your friends list (because he wants people to read his stuff and comment). Third, a long post means something important to you and people should understand that.

Gingersnaps. When I was deployed over to Saudi, my clever and resourceful wife discovered a recipe for gingersnaps that had so much ginger, I believe one would need a prescription to obtain them legally.

I must confess I've never heard of gingersnaps before.

I have a special recipe for chocolate chip cookies. I use vanilla beans instead of vanilla extract...and I never by the normal chips. It's always either Ghiradelli or Guittard.

Sometimes, I add in toffee pieces when I can find them.

Oh, and I make a vanilla bean cookie that could topple a communist regime.

I have to say this.

You don't have to be on the meds any more than you want to. You have some say in this, you know. And, you have the right to alternate forms of treatment, and to get a second, third, or tenth opinion.

I know that you know my views on meds...but I also want to make sure that you are advocating for yourself. That is what this is all about...YOU.

One day I will taste some of your chocolate chip cookies, K.

I know I don't have to be on the meds more than I have to. But I also want to play things on the safe side. Placebo effect, ya know? You know.

I know your view on meds quite well. I am doing this out of my own voliton.

Oh, and after school is out for the semester, I plan on doing massive amounts of baking. I tried to make you cookies once, I remember, but I think I had oven problems.

Anyway, I'm sure that it could be arranged for me to have something of a surplus. Perhaps we can work something out...

*grin*

I'm glad to hear you say that, because as a pharmacy student, I can tell you it's generally a really bad idea to stop taking antidepressants at this point in your treatment. I strongly encourage you to listen to your doctor's instructions... he has been to medical school, after all.

Actually, Marie Porter Morrison, I'm beginning to think my doctor likes to wear his spock and spout random medical jargon for fun. ;)

haha I don't know why, but reading my full name like that makes me feel like I'm in trouble! (You know how when you are a kid, you know you are in trouble when you hear your mom yell your full name?) I wasn't trying to imply that I didn't think you weren't taking your doctor's instructions seriously, I just wanted to encourage you to keep doing so. Sorry if it didn't come across like that! I'm not an expert by any means, but everything thing he has told you so far matches what I've been taught.

Nah, it was just the fact that you said "as a pharmacy student." Mrs. Morrison, I went to your wedding for goodness sakes. You treat me as a stranger if you think I can't remember you're going to pharmacy school (I understand if you explain something as a pharmacy major in a post, but a comment is more of a one on one conversation). ;)
