First day of tutoring
Jun. 5th, 2006 04:09 pmSo, today was my first day working for GEAR UP, a program that helps fills out tutors at summer school programs. I chose to help out with a 7th grade math class. Now see, these kids are the ones who are there because they're behind. A lot of them don't want to be there. Then again, most kids would want to be anywhere else than school during the summer.
I was reminded that choosing to be a teacher has its own challenges. A big part of my time will be teaching kids who are considered to be below the average. People who are given less of a chance, statistically speaking.
Well, here I go and throw my hat into the ring.

Where are you?
We all care and miss you!
Please do something to prove that you're still alive.
If not, I'm sure Phil and I will make a road trip to your house and see for ourselves if you're ok.
Please Daniel.
