My Ferrett sensei would be happy to know that I'm a published writer now. The Collegian, the student newspaper for the University of Tulsa, was so desparate for articles they accepted my guest submission. I'm afraid of copyright rules, so I'll wait for my school newspaper to update the current issue and link it as soon as I can.

I'm especially looking forward to my LJ friend's partywhipple's comments on it.

Be gentle, it's my first published article on paper (I'd link you to my first internet article on Magic, but it's terrible).

I'd just like to explain my writing. If you read the opinion pages of my college newspaper, it's rife with lefty liberals. Now that I'm confident enough in my writing ability, I decided to put up a moderate argument.

That is to say, I didn't write anything that nobody already knew. I purposely clouded my own political views because I wanted people to think for themselves. Only those who know me would catch the little hints I gave on my political stands.

My first props go out to the editor of starcitygames.com, the person who taught me how to write for an audience. Then I have to thank his wife, who inspired the title of my article and gave me a great analogy for voting. Then I have to thank his stepdaughter for her tirade against the war, for it gave me the courage to defend my views.

Thank you all.

I finally found my first article online.

Look at the second to last page on the pdf file, where you'll see a color picture of the American flag. It's entitled "Liberals can be patriotic too", author Daniel Tu.

You see, when you load up my college newspaper's website, you stare at a web page version of the previous issue. So I thought they hadn't updated yet. However, someone showed me where to find it. There's a small link on the upper right that says "latest issue". Stupid webmasters hiding my article from me.

I apologize to everyone for the wait. If you want to know why I even bothered to write, check out all the other liberal articles in the opinion section. I mean I'm a moderate and the opinion editor makes me look like a liberatarian. This is why I need partywhipple's backup on a couple of things.

Word of warning to whoever I read...I may use anything you say in an article that I write. I'll acknowledge you here for it, but I'm going to steal people's ideas like nothing else.

Again, a big hearty thanks to the Ferrett family.
