I like to make predictions because they're fun. It's great fun to see how stupid you were. So, without further adieu, my prediction for the 2004 MVP playoffs

American League
New York Yankees over the Minnesota Twins
The Yankees just have too much firepower for a Twins starter not named Johan Santana. The interesting thing will be to see if the Twins can force the Yankees to use Mariano Rivera at least three times. Yankees in four.

Boston Red Sox over the Anaheim Angels
I know, the Beantowners are cursed. The Angels has Vladmir the Imapaler, but they'll be facing off against a Red Sox rotation that includes Curt Schilling, Pedro Martinez, and Tim Wakefield (my favorite knuckleballer). I don't think K-Rod and Percival will get to show up enough to silence the Red Sox bats. Red Sox in four.

Boston Red Sox over New York Yankees
It's about time the Red Sox claim the ALCS in seven.

National League
Los Angeles Dodgers over the St. Louis Cardinals
In the playoffs, you usually favor pitching. The Dodgers have plenty of that plus the best closer in the game in Eric Gagne. The Cardinals do have a lineup capable of blowing LA away, however. Even though LA's lineup isn't that great, I think the Cardinal pitchers will lose some nerve and choke. It's close, so I'm going to call the Dodgers in five.

Houston Astros over the Atlanta Braves
It's amazing the Bobby Cox can sill lead teams to team pennants. The hot hand is with the Astros, though. The Astros have discovered themselves just in time, and they could be the Marlins of this year. They know it'll probably be their last chance together.

LA Dodgers over Houston Astros
Houston may have the hot hand, but the Dodgers passed their test as well. Gagne seals the deal for the Dodgers in six.

World Series
LA Dodgers over the Boston Red Sox
Dodgers come out of nowhere to continue the legendary curse.
