If I remember correctly, I met you in the post election chaos through zoethe.

You're out in Oregon. You like cats. Your sister draws some of your icons, and some are from MegaTokyo. You've got quite a bit of talent in the writing department, as well. You're able to communicate your ideas in a clear and concise manner.

I think you are someone with a big heart. You see unhappiness and you try your best to fix it.

You are willing to share some harrowing insights into your life. You strengthen my faith with the details of your struggles, for we all are fighting our battles, both internal and external.

This is where I'd write more, but then I realize that I don't know you that well yet. I'm sure I have much to learn from you in the coming months.

About that Truman scholarship...

I got rejected. Well, to put it more politely, "The selection committee decided that the Truman competition was not the best match for your talents and goals." I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. It's not too surprising, though, as my GPA is kind of low for these things. Also, the Truman is a public service scholarship, and I don't have an overwhelming service resume. However, it's probably a good thing. This frees up time for me to do other things. And I've learned a lot about myself in the process.

That's one door that has closed.
