I've been up for nearly twenty hours now, reaching dementia stage. Studying for midterm plus preparing honors report plus three hours honors lecture plus hour and a half committee meeting plus dinner plus forty days of purpose bible study plus mario kart plus mortar board mock selections plus controls project I couldn't figure out equals one slow, tired, burned Daniel.

I was at that breaking point when my guardian angels arrived at the 40 days of purpose Bible Study. We've split into a girls and guys group, and each one decided to do a ministry project. The guys are helping out with this elementary outreach this Saturday. The girls baked us cookies and gave us cards. Hmmmm, peanut butter chip and chocolate chip cookies. Okay, I would have been happier with just chocolate chip cookies but I can't refuse the kindness of fresh cookies, even ones with peanut butter chips in them (they're good, just not as the main flavor).

My card on the front had "Daniel 2". Oh, yes, the joke that will follow me for the rest of my life (hey, guess what my favorite chapter in the Bible is). Inside was Phillippians 1:9-10 "And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ." Cool. And a bonus message:

Daniel you are so friendly and always reach out to find out how my day is going. Thanks for sharing the love of God!

Hmmm, I must admit at the time my nerves were frayed and probably not in the mood to find out what anybody's day was like. But the guardian angels came in with the save, with warm cookies and messages hand written in crayon.

By the way, did you know that guardian angels could write in crayon much neater than I can write with a ball point pen?
