So Anime Mike and I teamed up for a new sanctioned format for the card game known as Magic: The Gathering. The new format, Two-Headed Giant Limited, was fun because unlike most team tournaments, teammates are allowed to talk and freely share information. We drove to the Arkansas Two-Headed Giant States tournament with Lucky Andy and Random Jameson. One of twenty-six duos would be crowned as Arkansas's 2HG Champions!

But before going into battle, it is wise to eat. We decided to eat at IHOP before the tournament because I could then meet Alyssa-chan for breakfast that Saturday morning. Of course, none of us expected IHOP to be so full on a Saturday morning. It was fun times relating old experiences, as I'm sure Alyssa-chan found it amusing how my friends could rattle off Comedy Central and Simpsons quotes. Also, a rather funny exchange...

Mike: Daniel is too lucky!
Alyssa: Yeah, I can see that.
D2: Wait, you don't play Magic with us. How would you know how lucky I am?
Alyssa: I don't know, good luck and Daniel just seem to go together.

We split ways and arrived at the tournament late, though they waited for us (much to the chagrin of the others). Mike and I joked how his bad luck would balance my good luck (his limited rating is 1501 while mine is 1813, though we're about equal in terms of play skill). I told him that we would need a certain hex to break his hex.

Hex brought us to the finals, to make a long story short. We needed a lot of luck to survive. We faced off against Andy and Jameson in the finals, but we lost despite putting up a very good fight. They won two boxes of product, two baseball caps with the Champs logo, and two Magic Carrying cases.

But the most intriguing aspect of this format is that there is a "primary" head and "secondary" head. While it is a team competition, the primary head has the final say in all matters. In semifinals, when Anime Mike and I got firm control of the game, the other two heads started arguing.

Primary: Alright, cast this spell and this spell.
Secondary: No, you can't make me!
Primary: But that will give us another turn.
Secondary: Fine! I'll play them, but I'll still hate you!
