Christmas Wish List
Nov. 29th, 2004 09:30 amThe friend that I've known the longest had a theory about our friendship. He said that he knew my old high school inner circle were good friends because we didn't need to get gifts for each other. We were above trite capitalism. I certainly didn't mind the theory because it sure made my Christmas shopping a whole lot simpler.
I don't know about you, but I sure do get more excited opening up gifts than I do when I'm buying them. The fact that I'm still a poor college boy may have something to do with that (no, not really).
Oh well, I'll be a dutiful to the greedy capitalist machine that is America. Yes, I have given in to the Christmas wish list meme. Ask for anything you want. Just don't ask for world peace, cause I've heard that's kind of hard to deliver (and that's not mentioning the insane packaging costs). I have a wish list on Amazon, but their wish list is broken right now so I might edit that in later. Hey, it never hurts to ask. I have plenty, but I suppose these are the ones that I'd really like if someone was randomly inclined to gratify the materialistic desires of a poor college boy.
A friend of mine recommended Steinback's The Moon is Down ($10). I could check it out from the library, but recommendations are handy to have in one's own collection of books.
I'd like to know how to properly host a LAN party, and my sensei
theferrett knows best on how to just do that (17$).
I've also heard many good things about The Labyrinth ($30) and the Book of Dreams ($27) by
yuki_onna. As a favor to both of us, someone could help find out if they're true or not.
Random anime series that I would like to add to my collection: Dai Guard ($70). My red-haired anime friend loves the catchy theme song.
Random anime soundtracks: Nadesico ($15), Evangelion OST 1 ($15), and Evangelion OST 2 ($15). As a rule, I like anime soundtracks. These are mecha series that I enjoyed watching (cause I'm a big robot kind of guy).
Random video games: Final Fantasy Origins ($15) and Final Fantasy Chronicles ($40). I'm an old school RPG fan. I don't care about how good the graphics are, it's the gameplay and story that counts. The old ones had those qualities; the new ones rarely do (i.e. they've become Role Playing Movies).
Send cool stuff to (as far as I know, I haven't friended any stalkers):

I'd ask for something Magic related, but I'm in semi-retired mode right now.
As far as sports goes, I wish Tulsa and Arkansas have a good basketball seasons.
Alas, Christmas is more than just receiving. Don't be shy, go ahead and make a list and ask, my fine friends. Who knows who will grant your wishes? I want you to know that it doesn't have to be material. For example, I randomly asked someone to friend me in the Christmas spirit, and it was done. Perhaps you just want to know my thoughts about something. I'll post on it. It's the season, and I'll shed the some of the bitterness for it. :)
