For once, we had the entire crew. One of those rare occurences happened in the universe to allow us to all be in one place at one time (Maph's dad even took a picture of us, which we hardly ever do). The army man Maph's house was the location of choice.

Not sure if I can say it was back to back to back session because we were randomly missing the second DVD of the extended Two Towers. It had to be replaced by the regular version. I can say that the extended scenes do answer a lot of "So what happened to so-and-so..." and "Where do they get those cool cloaks...".

We've all seen the trilogy, so we all made snazzy comments/conversation throughout the movies. We needed to stay awake since we started kind of late at three o'clock in the afternoon. How does Legolas do all the things he does? Cause he's an elf. Why is Arwen glowing when Frodo first meets her? Cause she's an elf.

Also, sitting around for 12 plus hours makes you notice things you would not have thought about before. Like, if you added an "s" to saltines, you get saltiness, which would describe a quality of those crackers.

Random factoids come out. Like Deb, the girl from Napoleon Dynamite, was the little girl in Waterworld. And that Boromir dies a lot, as 006 in Goldeneye and that random cleric from Equilibrium.

You know it's a nerd party when priestly John's younger sister and her friend enter when we're discussing how our group of six would be a Final Fantasy I party (six classes for six people) and they leave when we're discussing what part of the world would be the hardest zone (as in MMORPG zone...America, the Middle East, Amazon, and Antarctica were argued as choices). These are important topics of discussion, my fine friends.

My New Year's plans might be the same, except I could randomly watch a 26 episode anime series in one viewing.

I guess I should mention LOTR is awesome. Simply awesome. But it is kind of long and does have some rather slow parts. Fortunately, where Tolkien basically wrote "And there was much fighting", we are treated to some excellent battle scenes.
