About that Truman scholarship...
Jan. 18th, 2005 06:40 pmI got rejected. Well, to put it more politely, "The selection committee decided that the Truman competition was not the best match for your talents and goals." I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. It's not too surprising, though, as my GPA is kind of low for these things. Also, the Truman is a public service scholarship, and I don't have an overwhelming service resume. However, it's probably a good thing. This frees up time for me to do other things. And I've learned a lot about myself in the process.

Date: 2005-01-19 12:56 am (UTC)My honest opinion is that if this is something that you really want, you'll have a lot more luck next year, because you'll have time to get your resume into ship-shape, or atleast what they consider to be ship-shape.
I encourage you to not dwell on this, because, lets be honest. If you really wanted it, you would have gotten it. There's a difference between not being willing to and not being able to put enough effort into something.
