Random Thoughts, 4-05-05
Apr. 5th, 2005 08:47 pmI live on the third floor of a three floor dormitory. I'm just noting this because it's kind of eerie when you hear hail pounding on the roof. Thud thud thud. Plain eerie.

Have you ever heard of CAKE, the band? I dunno, I don't listen to them, but for Tulsa's Springfest week they're coming here. TU students get free tickets or something. A free concert. I should go...

Overall predictions for baseball...I think the Marlins will win it all if Mota can become a proven closer. I will go with Yankees in the AL for two hundred million reasons. I think the AL West will be the most interesting division (defending divison winners Angels, retooled A's, young Rangers, revamped Mariners).
AL West: Angels. Sorry Kim, but the A's have an unproven starting rotation, the Rangers have a great lineup but no starting depth, and the Mariners have some pop in the lineup behind Ichiro but also a lack of starting depth. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (yes, for the non-baseball folks, they actually renamed a team into an even clunkier name) have good starting depth, great closer in K-Rod, and a great lineup. The outfield of Anderson, Finley, and Guerrero is among the best in baseball.
Al Central: Twins. Strong team in a weak division.
Al East: Yankees win the division, though I think Boston has the better postseason team. We all want to see Schilling vs. Johnson some time this year.
NL West: No clue, though I will say Giants just because when Barry Bonds comes back he'll be a force. Or a distraction, it's hard to tell in this division.
NL Central: Cardinals by a long shot. Most powerful NL lineup, good starting pitching, good closer. My Pirates will finish last in this divison, despite their glut of young arms.
NL East: Marlins. Braves can't keep winning, and Delgado gives the Marlins much needed left handed power.

I took a French placement test today. Normally, they take twenty minutes. I took six minutes. It helps when you can't read a single word. Oy vey, this French thing will be a rather difficult ordeal.

Yay, go Roy Williams. Now he doesn't have to answer the stupid question about never winning a championship.

If you never had to get out of bed, would you?
