LeBron appears to be the real deal. When he was first drafted, I thought there was no way he could live up to the hype, but he's made a believer out of me. He seems to have that Jordan-like ability to carry a team, and I look forward to seeing him mature.
People pretend to be fine because
(a) They don't really think anyone else gives a shit. There is a fear that responding to 'How you doing?' with an actual description of how you are doing would create an awkward moment of oversharing. (b) Many are afraid to add the perception of being a loser and a sad sack to their already mounting pile of woes.
