Dude, it's 05-05-05. Okay, that was the obligatory Cinco de Mayo reference.

My team, the Pittsburgh Pirates, has ten wins. Jose Mesa has ten saves. This means that we still can't come back in the ninth inning (although we did pretty good against Lidge).

I woke up at 7:55 for an 8:00am final.
------------------------------------
There are few sweeter things than finishing your last final for the semester.

7-16 Rangers? And they want to KEEP me as a fan??? Are they CRAZY?

But...you know that INCREDIBLE catch Byrnes made the other day? I was RIGHT there. Like...ten feet from him. It was incredible. People are saying it's the best catch in the history of foul territory, and I was THERE. That is a highlight that will be shown for YEARS...and I was there!

The Pirates supposedly have this giant batch of young arms who are always "two or three years away from developing". Even if one of them developed, they'd be traded elsewhere by a budget conscious management ala Jason Schmidt.

Rangers have a great lineup, if they ever got some solid frontline pitching they could go far in the playoffs. The Rangers arguably the best infield in baseball, and they're young to boot. Blalock, Texeira, Soriano, and Young should be around for another fives years in the west.

The A's have been plagued by injuries. Growing pains for the new starters isn't the most ideal situation.

I am SERIOUSLY thinking that next year...the 2006 season, is going to be our year. Not that I am totally giving up on this one, mind you...we sucked huge last April...and then if we had been slightly more injury free could have easily taken the Angels.

We are plagued by injuries. It sucks. But sitting that close to that catch made my SEASON.
