Today was a good day. First, I drove an hour up to Fayetteville to visit my sister. We made Dad's style of slightly burnt fried rice, and it turned out pretty good. Tulsa winning the game made it awesome. Sis also played an old song for me, "Ballade Pour Adeline", which I think she said Richard Clayderman plays alot. Yet another piano song that invokes good memories for me.

Then I visited lucky Andy, random Jameson, and quiet Luke. We ate out at a Taste of Thai. They got level 5 spicy stuff, I just went for level 2 Pad See Ew. Yep, I am a rice noodle fan. But I'm not the typical Asian who loves spicy stuff. Got a game of Texas Hold em as well, where I lost five bucks thanks to my impatient all-ins. I ran a bluff into pocket rockets. Whoops.

On a spicy of scale of one to five, what number would you choose?

As long as there is still lots of flavor, I'd take a 4. Too often, though, hot sauces focus solely on heat at the expense of flavor.

Yeah hot sauces tend to burn out their flavor more quickly than most other food items.

I would go with 2. I like just a little bit of spice, but not too much because I don't like the way it hurts my mouth. (Plus, it makes my nose run like crazy!) haha This is probably a case of TMI, but I'm tired enough that I don't care....

Nah, I think everyone gets a little runny nose when eating spicy. I believe it's because the spices are clearing your sinuses.

I used to go for a 5 but as I get older my body is making me pay more and more for eating spicy stuff so I generally go for a 3 to 4 now. I like to grow my own peppers and have gotten some interesting flavors from cross pollination.

Must remember to put a garden in at the new house this spring. My wife and I like to grow our own pepper and tomatos and make our own salsa.

My parents like growing their own stuff too. I'm not patient enough to keep up with a garden, though.
