If you are my friend, you will hide memes under lj-cuts for the time being. First off, it's getting VERY annoying to have to scroll through twenty million Santa and Cthulu memes. Secondly, the coding on some of these memes are ABSOLUTE SH*T. They TOTALLY do a number on my friends page. If you must, describe the meme outside the cut and say why you like it. Then I'll be interested enough to click on the lj-cut.

A word of warning to people who do not do this: I don't tolerate idiots. If you are too stupid to understand why memes need to be lj-cut for the time being, then your part in my quest has ended and I will defriend you. Seriously.

LJ-CUT THOSE DARN MEMES PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

*EDIT*: Please notice the sarcasm.

Wow, you really wanna be that bossy about what other people do in their own journals?

I'd say LJ-cut large, strident text, but I have cuts turned off, so it wouldn't help me one bit ;)

What, me bossy? It's been said that I have a choleric temperament.

And sheesh, I think I may need to find a way to put huge [sarcasm] tags around this post.

Actually, I do. But they should be laughing and thinking of me when they do lj-cut them. :D

I say this with total humor, tinged with a bit of friendly advice...

It doesn't seem to ME that your sarcasm is coming through. If not for your above comment, I would have believed that you were TOTALLY serious. Normally, I wouldn't think that you would be that much of an angerball, but you have to admit that you've been quite a bit different lately. :)

Anyway, I took this totally seriously. I wasn't going to ball you out or anything, but I, too, was going to accuse you of some serious bossiness.

Yep. I'm new here. I would have taken it seriously. And I would have said something snarky. There you have it.

Welcome. I am snarky on my LJ as well.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

And people, you KNOW I am a bossy person. I don't think that part of my personality comes across enough.

I'm far too stupid to understand why memes need to be lj-cut "for the time being." Seriously, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

Also, if you upgrade your journal to S2, you will have a lot fewer problems. I haven't suffered from friends-page disaster since I did it.

I already knew you were a fool, Mrs. Ferrett. We all are. ;)

Also, doesn't upgrading my journal to S2 require a paid account? Perhaps you'd be foolish enough to send a Christmas gift my way, Mrs. Ferrett? I bet Ferrett-sensei might have some Christmas cheer in his heart. Help a grasshopper out. Please?

Switching to S2 doesn't require a paid account, but free users to miss out on advanced customization and the opportunity to create a zillion different layers so they can change color schemes (or whatever) at whim.

You can change your journal style at
http://www.livejournal.com/customize/
Play with it a bit. Look at the FAQ. If you don't like any of the options you find there, you can switch back to S1 easily enough.

There are a couple of memes where the coding actually freezes my friends list somehow, so that I can ONLY see entries after the meme. Then I have to figure out who put the meme in and take them off of my friends list for a few days until the shitty code scrolls off my screen.

This happened four times, and then the fifth, one person ([livejournal.com profile] evilpheemy) finally said "Oh, I'll just put that behind a cut, then." when I told him why I was taking him off my friends list.

I'm not sure why it didn't occur to anyone else.

If you've ever read Dilbert, then you know that 99.98% of customers do not complain. If people do not complain about something they pay money for, why would they complain about something that's free?

The scary thing is that I am part of the 0.02% of people who complain. In fact, I probably make up 0.00000002% of people who would complain about something that's free.

I also practice what I preach, as you know.

I tend to skip over memes too but I think you're out of line to suggest that people modify their personal journals to suit your reading preferences. Especially if you make that request in gigantic type with an obnoxious number of exclamation points. Even re-reading the post, I don't pick up on any sarcastic wording or tone.

Hmmm, I suppose an unreasonable request is still an unreasonable request. I am just a person who expects people to do things the way I do them...a flaw of mine that I working on. And they need to add sarcasm tags to the Internet...
