My greatest triumph and my greatest tragedy have the strongest connection possible. They are one and the same. It was graduating valedictorian out of my high school class of five hundred people. My parents had told me that I would graduate valedictorian ever since I could remember. Hearing that "Daniel Tu, Class Valedictorian" as I received my diploma was fulfilling that prophecy. Then again, Oscar Wilde once wrote a great line about how there are two tragedies in the world. “There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it.”
