Jan. 31st, 2006 07:15 pmThe power of procrastination
I'm either supposed to be working on a presentation that's worth twenty percent of my grade in one class, an article for the school newspaper, or doing some fundamentals of modern math homework. What will I choose to do instead? Update.
I need to.
State of the Union
Topics that the President should cover:
-Iraq
-Iran
-Hamas
-Google
-education
-health care
-social security
-the war on terror
-confirmation of Roberts and Alito
-gay marriage
-abortion
-Africa
Administration
I'm going down to two thoughtful posts a week, of which I'm already behind on. Hey, I have a part time job in addition to a killer workload now.
Reconstruction presentation
I have a group presentation tomorrow in my toughest class, Dr. Lim's American Political Development. It's worth 20 percent of my grade, and we're graded as a group. Normally, I don't like group work, but I've been fortunate enough to lead a very task oriented group. Plus the book is well written so I think we'll nail it, even if Dr. Lim grills us tomorrow.
Layout
Layout is like puzzle, though a puzzle that takes approximately six or seven hours to complete. I didn't know how much work it took to make the articles fit into their space until I had to do the job myself. Oh yeah, at a small school newspaper like ours, I have layout duties in addition to my editing duties. It'd help if we didn't have to use really old Macs.
Apartment uproar
So they close down one dorm for a year, and now every apartment dweller has to take on one extra occupant. Geez, thanks administration.
Verse of the Day
"God said to Moses, "I am who I am . This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.' "
~Exodus 3:14
Convo of the Day
Guru: Shall we get shakes?
PC: Let's see here...they're four dollars...
D2: That's too much!
Guru: Then I'll buy shakes for everyone!
PC and D2: Um...okay.
Quote of the Day
"That's like being asked to shoe a horse and being given a hat and soft taco to do it with!"
~Anime Mike, source of endless quotes
Link of the Day
Kind of old news by now, but the TU Baptists on my reading list should know about what happened to Lonnie Latham. Oddly enough, I remember him speaking at the BSU once or twice...
Sports report
No. 3 Memphis comes to the Reynolds Center in TU tomorrow night...we're going to get killed. Even baby Jesus is going to have to cry for TU's men basketball team.
At least our women lead Conference USA. Now only if more people cared about women's basketball...
Oscar nominations
Just like last year, I have not seen a single Best Picture nomination. I just do not like going out to see movies at the movie theater.
Blogs are misleading
Remember, you only get a small part of the story on someone's blog. Don't be fooled by "sudden" switches in personality...there's often good reason behind those seemingly "sudden" switches.
Random Question
Would the plural of Jesus be "Jesuses" or "Jesi"?
