Almaty, though the only reason I know that one is because a kid from my college group at church went to Kazakhstan for his mission trip this summer so we can updates through the Missionary Board office of Almaty.
Because of the title, conqueror of demons, I kept looking for the part where your video game achievements were described. Hehe, I guess I get a bit caught up in my own world sometimes...
I would have mentioned beating Dr. Mario on Level 20 at HIGH speed for the old 8-bit NES if the committee deciding this scholarship knew what I was talking about.
Haha, that's great. It brings back memories of my own quasi-celebrity status in the last part of senior year. I obviously never had your level of supervillain potential, but McAllen (TX) was extremely proud of its three National Merit Finalists in 2005.
Supervillian, huh? Heh, Southside High School is considered to be one of the top high schools in Arkansas, if not the best despite its status as a public school. I didn't realize until my junior year at TU what good teachers I had.
Do you guys only get one or two National Merit Finalists a year? We had seven my year and my graduating class was considered to be on the low end in terms of overall talent (though I was considered to be on par with any other valedictorian, except for the girl who later won a Rhodes Scholarship). This year my school had 13 Finalists, and five of them are going to TU on a Presidential Scholarship!

It's Astana. Moved there from Almaty in order to ease north-south tensions in the country.
Random tidbit of useless knowledge! ;)
