Reject #5: Sandwich Time (or how bad writing induces your readers to go out for a ham sandwich or slurpee)
There's a dark side to hopeFor my friends who don't read the news The first reports had 12 of 13 miners surviving. Then BLAM! Whoops, we misunderstand the communication. Twelve of thirteen
died. [Droopy]Boo hoo, boo hoo.[/Droppy]
There's nothing like raising someone's hope and then crushing them mercilessly. That's the dark side to hope.
Sanguine saline turns into sorrowful saline. Terrific tears of joy become terribe tears of despair. A kind, understanding God becomes a mocking, incomprehensible Lord.
(Obligatory note: Droopy voice was used to shock you. I am actually very saddened by the death of the miners. So sad that I have to use sarcasm to detach myself from their sad story.)
Something that happened in my lifeI managed to organize five out of six of my high school inner circle for dinner and a movie tomorrow night. The only one missing will be fighting insurgents in Iraq. May God bless samurai Maph.
We're meeting at Mike's apartment. I'm cooking burgers, Big Sis's fried potatoes, and corn with assistance from the black mage.
Syriana will be the movie for the night.
Random factoid“Blue Hen State”: This nickname was given to Delaware after the fighting Blue Hen Cocks that were carried with the Delaware Revolutionary War Soldiers for entertainment.
Verse of the Day"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."
~1 John 5:14
Convos of the Day( FFXI, flaky high schoolers, benevolent dictatorship, Baptists don't believe in contraception, D2 buzzes in too early )Quotes of the Day"Writing can be a wonderful way of confronting and toying with fears in a metaphoric, fantasy world where the demons are more likely to hurt your characters than you."
~
purplkat"Joking about Christianity isn't evidence that I'm intolerant—hell, I'm perfectly willing to tolerate Christians. I have never, for instance, attempted to prevent Christians from marrying each other, or tried to stop them from adopting children, or worked to make it illegal for them to hold certain jobs. I don't threaten to boycott companies that market their products to Christians, and I don't organize letter-writing campaigns to complain about Christian characters on television."

Links of the DayCrash course in learning theory. (vector:
passionateusers)
A link describing the main theories of teaching. Also helpfully if you're trying to establish a "learning blog" or wanting be a teacher (which I want to be). Complete with awesome graphics and writing.
Well written USA Today article about the limits of what you pics you can take with your new shiny digital camera (vector:
wolflady26). They actually make sense, too.
Sports ReportJoe Paterno is 79 years young and coaching a top tier Division I-A school like Penn State. I love the interview they showed during the interview.
"The worse thing somebody did was to invent the calendar."
Joe Pa is awesome. He's not like most coaches, solely worried about boosters and recruiting. Joe Pa actually cares about his players and wants to see them develop as men, not football players. That's why he's so highly respected, because he not only loves to coach footbal but he loves to coach life even more.
We need more coaches like Joe Pa. At all levels of sports.
EntertainmentI never thought I would start an MMORPG, but FFXI has been on my mind recently...
