Random thoughts, 11-11-2005
Nov. 11th, 2005 05:00 pmMom's back home now. My elder sister says she's doing a lot better. Physically she is fine. The mental scars will take some time to heal.

The better I know you, the less likely I am to call you by your first name. For example, I call my roommate "Sir" or by the affectionate nickname "fat bastard". I also have a nasty habit of calling people "Miss Abbott" or "Mr. Coghill" when I'm being quirky. Guess I'm going to be one of those kinds of teachers.
----------------------------------------------------
Fantasy team wise, I'm doing okay, second in my division due to tiebreakers with four games left. I have a good QB and a super RB tandem but my WRs are subpar. I have a chance to pull it off if my super RB tandem can produce for the rest of the year.
----------------------------------------------------

I got "married".

If you asked a random group of 100 high school students why we celebrate Veterans Day on November 11th, how many would you guess would be able to come up with the correct answer?

Date: 2005-11-12 05:58 pm (UTC)~I had a teacher in high school (my band director actually) who would get frustrated, stop everything, put his hands on his face and then look up and say "Dear... do we understand now?" and the student (usually me or another guard girl) would timidly say "Yes sir" "Ok, let's try again". Yea... the whole "dear" thing made you feel that much worse about whatever you did wrong. He was one of "those" kinds of teachers.
I've never really understood fantasy football. I like baseball better anyways.
~Haha... nice. Congrats on your fake marriage. Too bad you didn't do it on April 1. Then your "marriage" would be a real joke!
~If I had to guess, I would say only about 34 would be able to.

Date: 2005-11-12 07:33 pm (UTC)~Ah, but formality often encourages a higher degree of respect. At least that's what's taught in my culture.
~I bet a lot of girls don't understand fantasy football. And that's perfectly fine.
~I would have forgotten about my "marriage" by April 1st.
~Whoa, ask Phil what his guess was.
