Administration
I've already had to delete one unruly post trying to usurp my authority on my LJ. Note to any aspiring revolutionists: I am a benevolent dictator, but I will not hesitate to use extreme force to quell a rebellion.

When someone gets engaged
You congratulate the groom (for landing a nice catch) and send your best wishes to the bride (because she needs a lot of luck).

Funny voicemail messages
[livejournal.com profile] zarhooie has a very funny voice message.

Senior Project
Okay, I'm actually going to do the reboot. Hopefully, it works out this time.

The difference between accuracy and precision
An accurate gun always hits the right target. A precise gun consistently hits the same spot, but not necessarily the right target. (Thank you AP Chemistry)

Convos of the Day
G: I find it ironic that conservatives are pro-life and for the death peanlty but liberals are pro-choice and anti-death penalty.
D2: I don't find that strange at all.
G: How do you figure that?
D2: Think about it. Conservatives try to preserve society. So they are willing to take a chance on an undetermined life, and in the same vein they are willing to eliminate members of society who threaten its well being. Liberals try to revolutionize society. So they are willing to eliminate the undetermined and hold on to what they can change or rehabilitate, as is the case with murderers.
G: That's very counterintuitive.

Quote of the Day
"LJ shouldn't be a transcription service. Writing is an art, not a tape recording."
~[livejournal.com profile] zoethe, in reference to this experimental writing of mine

Link of the Day
2005 just got one second longer.

Sports Report
It's official: Lebron James is sick. The Cleveland Cavaliers can make it the Eastern Conference Finals if they can topple Miami or Detroit in the semis.

DeAngelo Williams of Memphis should be a top 5 draft pick next year.

Dad got a raise
Woot!

I'm a ragdoll

Ragdoll
You are a Ragdoll! You are known for your laid
back attitude. You are the ultimate in
low-maintenance. You'd rather hang out around
the house all day than seek adventure.

What breed of cat are you?

Suggestions poll
Today I recorded the first ever Story of the Week (it's mp3 format, natch).

What do you think of the story?

I agree with the second part. However, different people use LJ for different purposes. If you want a public record of a nice long conversation, there's nothing inherently wrong with typing it up and posting it to LJ--as long as you don't expect anyone else in the world to read it. :-) Since you appear to want to keep your audience, then her advice is very good advice to follow. And it's a darn good quote of the day, too.

Yeah, I'd prefer to keep my audience. But I also tend to try out new things. Evolution has dead ends, and as my writing evolves it will try out new things that will die a quick, quick death.
