Last year was I think my favorite New Years ever. We had a huge LAN party/get together and played games into the night. Some people stayed over for something like two days, hardly getting any sleep, playing computer games and hanging out and generally having a good time. It was wonderful.
This year is gonna suck, since we're moving on the 2nd. I have high hopes for the year to come, but I really have no way of knowing what will happen. My whole life is going to be completely changing this year, which is scary and exciting at the same time, and I have absolutely no idea where I'll end up.
They tend to be tamer in my household, largely because neither Sam nor I drink, and we discourage drinking in our house. That, and all of my friends know how much I loathe being around drunk people, even drunk people who I really enjoy spending time with when they're sober.
So the only judgement impairments come from caffiene, sugar, adrenaline, and sleep deprivation, which tends to keep thinks from getting quite as wild as they otherwise could be. Not that there haven't been some shouting matches, mind.
