My ole high school crew just called me up. We're going for the back-to-back-to-back extended LOTR in half an hour. Score one for spontaneous planning.

Just make sure that they know not to ruin any parts of the movie. There are a few parts that differ from the novels enough to be interesting, and they may as well come as a surprise to you the first time you see it.
